History of Agricultural Commodity Traceability

The story begins in 1872 when Jan Timmer Sr., the founder of the Timmer family legacy, journeyed from Bohemia, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, to America. At that time, New York City boasted a sizable Bohemian (Czech) community of cigar workers, where he gained valuable insights into the commodity trade. By 1879, he had returned to Bohemia (specifically Kutná Hora) and acquired an agricultural estate known as Mečkas (now Lorec, named after the brewery). This journey from tobacco to barley and fruit represents 146 years of expertise in traditional (analog) commodity markets.

21 Century story

The succession of the Timmer Family Office went to Tomas Zach LLM (grandson of Jiří Timmer) who established the Timmer Trust. His vast experience in the Principality of Liechtenstein, where he worked as international lawyer brought as he says all the bad experience you can imagine to help others how to avoid repeating them.

After unfriendly parting with the Liechtenstein law office Tomas Zach worked for a tobacco conglomerate in Heilbronn, Germany. The experience in both international law and agricultural commodities paved the road to his research and development of traceability and tracking using blockchain technology in Macao, SAR. And AI provided a next gen solution for all.
